How Much Does a Website Cost in West Yorkshire?
What you actually pay around here, what moves the price, and where the money gets wasted.
The numbers you will hear
Around Huddersfield, Leeds and Halifax a simple one page site can be a few hundred to about a thousand. A proper small business site, written properly, is usually somewhere between one and four thousand. A shop or a booking system costs more.
A quote far below that is often a template with a logo dropped in. Sometimes that is fine. Just know what you are buying.
What actually changes the price
Not page count. Thinking does. Getting the words right. Deciding what belongs on the front page. Real photos of the work instead of stock.
Ease of editing matters too. A cheaper site that you cannot update will cost you again in two years.
How to think about it
What is one good new customer worth over a year? If a decent job is worth a couple of thousand, a site that brings in one of those is not really a cost.
The money gets wasted on pages nobody reads, and on rebuilding because the first site could not be changed. Start with a site that looks like the company, brings in work, and can be edited. That is the spend that holds up.
If the site looks alright and the work is still not coming in
That is usually the words and the layout, not a new colour scheme. A short call is enough to see which.
