Website Designer in Holmfirth: What Working With a Local Designer Actually Looks Like

Local still means something

I work from Holmfirth, up in the Holme Valley. Most of the work happens on a screen, so in theory I could be anywhere. In practice, being nearby changes the job. I can sit in your unit, your shop, your kitchen table, and watch how you talk about what you do. That is usually where the good copy comes from, not from a form you fill in.

Being local also means I know the area you sell into. Holmfirth, Huddersfield, Meltham, Honley, Denby Dale. I know that a trades business in the valley gets very different enquiries to one working the Leeds ring road, and the site needs to reflect that.

What the first few weeks look like

We start with a conversation, not a design. I want to know where your enquiries come from now, which jobs you actually want more of, and which ones you would rather stop taking. Plenty of business owners have never been asked that second question.

After that I map out the pages and the order things need to be said in. You see the structure before you see any colour or type. If the structure is wrong, a nice looking site just hides the problem for a while.

Then the build

I build in Framer, which means the site is fast, it works properly on phones, and you can edit your own text without breaking anything. No plugin updates to babysit. No calling me because a form stopped working after an update.

Who this suits

It suits owners who want to be involved and want to understand what is happening. If you want to hand over a brief and never think about it again, that is a different kind of relationship and probably a different kind of supplier. If you want a site you actually understand and control, that is what I build.
