Website Redesign or Start Again?
Sometimes the words at the top of three pages fix it. Sometimes the whole thing is fighting you.
Name what is actually wrong
People say the site looks dated. Dig a bit and it is often something else. You cannot tell what the company does. The phone number is buried. It takes eight seconds to load on a phone. Those are different jobs.
Traffic arriving but no enquiries is usually wording and layout. No traffic at all is visibility. The wrong kind of enquiry is the site attracting the wrong work.
When a redesign is enough
If it loads, you can edit it, and the pages roughly match how you sell, you may only need clearer words, a stronger first screen, and some real proof. That is a smaller job with a decent return.
When to start again
Start again if it is slow and nothing fixes it. If you cannot change your own text. If someone has to be paid every month just to keep it standing. If adding one service means rebuilding half of it.
The awkward version is the site that half works, so nobody replaces it, and it quietly underperforms for years. If that sounds familiar, pick a side. Redecorating around a site you cannot edit is how you pay twice.
Your Leeds Website Looks Fine and Still Brings In Nothing
Looking good is one thing. Bringing in business is another. Here is what usually sits in between.
Small Business Website Checklist
Open the site on a phone. Work down the list. A new colour scheme will not cover the gaps.
How to Write the Words for Your Own Website
The words you say to a customer are nearly always better than the words you type when you try to sound professional.
If the site looks alright and the work is still not coming in
That is usually the words and the layout, not a new colour scheme. A short call is enough to see which.
