Do I Need a Blog on My Business Website?
You do not need a blog. You might need a few pages that answer the questions people already ask.
You probably do not need a blog
You might benefit from writing. Those are different things. Mixing them up is how a site ends up with four abandoned posts from 2022.
When writing is worth it
When customers ask the same things before they buy. Cost. Timescales. How it works. What happens if something goes wrong. Each of those can be a page that brings in the right people.
A page for a town you actually serve, or a type of job you actually want, will do more than a general news post. People search in their own words. Meet them there.
When it is a waste
Industry news nobody searches for. Posting because someone said you should post. Two thin updates a month. That does less than one useful page, and it makes the site look neglected.
If time is short, fix the homepage first. A clear site that brings in work beats a blog every time.
Sheffield Web Design: Questions to Ask Before You Sign
A few awkward questions now are cheaper than a site you cannot edit, do not own, and that brings in nothing.
Do I Need a Web Designer or a Web Developer?
Most small business sites need design and wording, not custom software. Picking wrong is how the budget disappears.
How Long Does It Take to Build a Website?
A proper business site is weeks, not days. The delay is almost never the build. It is waiting on words and photos.
If the site looks alright and the work is still not coming in
That is usually the words and the layout, not a new colour scheme. A short call is enough to see which.
